The 115

If you find yourself in the street in a situation of distress, the 115 can come to your aid 24/7. This call will give you all the information you need (administrative procedures, addresses, etc.). The 115 will also give you the opportunity to request an accommodation bed. Every year, the City of Paris mobilizes its services within the framework of the Winter Emergency Plan to reinforce the marauding and to welcome homeless people at night in its gymnasiums, certain municipal halls and, for the first time this year, in a dedicated place (from 6:00 pm to 8:30 am on weekdays, all day long, on weekends and holidays). They are offered a bed, a hygiene kit, a dinner heated on the spot and a breakfast. They are welcomed by volunteers and a multidisciplinary team in charge of accompanying them towards a more permanent solution (social workers, psychologists, doctors…).

SOS Canapé is a project set up by the association ESN France, which aims to support students in precarious situations by offering them temporary accommodation in local homes. The project is based on the principle of solidarity and mutual aid between students and members of the community.

The objective of SOS Canapé is to allow students in difficulty to find emergency accommodation for a limited period of time, while promoting cultural exchanges and conviviality between hosts and guests. The hosts are private volunteers who make available a room or a sofa in their home for one night up to 5 nights.

SOS Canapé is based on an online platform that allows students to submit a request for accommodation and locals to offer their accommodation. Members of the ESN Paris association coordinate and manage the project, ensuring the safety and well-being of both students and hosts.

SOS Canapé is an innovative project that meets a real need among students in precarious situations. It allows to create social links between students and the Parisian community, while offering a temporary and free accommodation solution for students in difficulty.
